We are thrilled to be contributing to the stellar work being done by the non-profit organization Translators Without Borders, which provides vital information, in the right language, at the right time in problematic locations around the world.

The organization aims to close the language gaps that hinder critical humanitarian efforts by connecting non-profit humanitarian organizations with a volunteer community of professional translators, building language translation capacity at the local level and raising awareness globally about language barriers.

The impactful work ranges from providing support in 15 languages to give voice to Kenyans during their recent elections; establishing “Simple Words for Health”, a simplified medical terminology database with 12,000 essential medical terms translated into more than 40 languages by medical personnel, and creating “Words of Relief”, a translation crisis relief network to aid in communications when crisis response humanitarian workers and affected populations don’t speak the same language.

Our most recent project translated guidelines from Spanish to English for victims in Ecuador affected by a recent earthquake, providing simple step-by-step instructions on how to receive aid from the Ecuadorian Red Cross.

We are thrilled to be a part of this worthwhile global effort, which is very much in line with the Bannigan Communications corporate value system of giving back to the communities in which we work, live and thrive.
